Jennifer is a kayak guide for CCA and Kayak Carolina. She has lived in Carolina Beach for almost 10 years and loves the diversity of landscape, wildlife and preserved natural areas that the island has to offer. Jennifer moved to Carolina Beach after living in New York City for three years working as an artist and printmaker. "I came here for a 4 month sabbatical, bought my first surfboard and never left". Jennifer is a devoted surfer and loves being in or around the water. She has won several trophies for longboarding in surfing contests here on the east coast including a first place in the East Coast Wahine Championships in 1999.

Jennifer also does most of the graphic design and websites for CCA and KC now. She has a Bachelors of Fine Art in printmaking from East Carolina University. She juggles guiding and graphics with making her own art and running her small business Cape Fear Press.

"I always enjoy showing people this peaceful landscape here, I find the marsh landscape visually soothing and with the low and quiet vantage point from the kayak even more so. The scenery is so minimal and horizontal, you can't help but wind down and just look."
